MARK AND JULIE MORGENSTERN

Mark and Julie Morgenstern have been serving as church planters with the EFCA in Ukraine for the past 11 years.  Their original outreach in Kiev spread to the southern peninsula of Crimea about 7 years ago.  Over the past seven years, the Lord has built a church through their ministry in Simferopol.  The Morgensterns, the members of the Simferopol church and Daniel & Wendy Allen have recently planted a sister church in Perevolnaya, approximately one hour from Simferopol.

Mark co-leads vision casting trips with the country leader to educate pastors, elders and other church leaders regarding the Lord’s work through the EFCAIM in Ukraine.  Judy Marcum and the Morgensterns usually host several short-term teams in Ukraine from the valley each year.  Please let the missions committee know if you are interested in serving in Ukraine for short-term work.

Mark and Julie have four sons: Daniel, Andrew, Timothy and Samuel.  All of which are being educated in the Ukrainian school system.  Please pray for this family as they seek to be living examples of the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, as they reach out to point people to the cross, as they live in minister in a primarily Orthodox community, and as they balance the demands of ministry with their personal lives.  Additionally, please pray for God’s guidance and wisdom as they seek to build churches in Ukraine.

Mark and Julie are planning on returning to Fresno, California from the summer of 2006 to the summer of 2007 for a restoration and educational furlough.  Please pray how you can be a part of their lives while they serve overseas and while they spend time at home next year
